Principles and characteristics of CLRRUS |
|
A lightning strike point is determined when the downward leader approaches within 100m of the coordinate. CLRRUS launches a strong upward leader with a fine timing based on tremendous ionization and wave trains.
Therefore, it guides irregular striking points to CIRRUS to minimize the damages to life and properties and acquire some safe space.

Protection radius of CLRRUS |

The protection radius of CLRRUS is determined by the French standard, NFC 17-102 enacted in 1995.
It is based on delta T, an installation height of CLRRUS and a protection class, NP1, 2 or 3.
The protection radius varying depending on the height is suggested in NF C 17-102.
So, all the protection radius of ESE lightning rods are calculated in the same way.
